How do I take care of fresh cut flowers?
Cut flowers must be kept moist constantly to sustain their fresh appearence for as long as possible. If you place your flowers in a container with floral foam, be sure to add water daily and mix in soluable plant food suitable for flowers.
Pour the mixture in the centre of the foam as to not overflow/ When receiving flowers in a base make sure the water is clear and contains plant food.
When first placing cut flowers in water be sure to cut the base of each stem on an angle and under water.
How long do fresh cut flowers usually last?
This depends on the flower itself, fresh cut flowers can last from a few days to up to three weeks. Starting with a healthy stock and proper flower care is essential to assure a maximum life span.
What care do house plants require?
House plants are a living entity, they require sunlight and adequate moisture. Placing the house plant in an area of direct sunlight is best for most plants provided the soil is always kept moist.
Be careful not to over water your house plant, the principal reason for houseplant failure is over watering. Check the soil daily with your finger for moisture - if it feels moist then leave it and check it the next day.
Another factor is room temperature, about 17 degrees Celsuis is ideal. It sounds like hard work but remember house plants bring beauty and help freshen up the air within the household.
